Erduran was born on February 13, 1928 in Istanbul. After graduating from Robert College, he completed his master’s degree in theater history and drama at Cornell University. In the 1960s he was engaged in publishing and cinema, and became Turkey’s representative for the International Theater Institute in 1986. In 1989, he was elected as the chairperson of the International Writers Committee. His plays were staged by important groups such as State Theaters, Istanbul City Theaters, Sururi-Cezzar Theater, Ulvi Uraz Theater, Haldun Dormen Theater and Kenter Theater. He died in Istanbul on January 7, 2017.
